Watson's involvement
with coating technologies goes back to
the 1960's. After graduating with a degree
in chemistry from The King's College,
he was made Project Leader for coated
products at Riegel Paper. During this
time, he also did graduate work in Polymer
Science.
Watson has been a successful independent consultant in the field of
silicone, pressure sensitive, and various
web-coating and converting processes
for over 35 years. He has advised such
firms as Fasson, Coated Products - Division
of Essex Chemical Corp., Mystic Tape,
Avery-Dennison, 3M, Polaroid, Kodak, Proctor & Gamble, OpSec (the world’s largest security film manufacturer), the Bank of Canada, FLEXcon, NCR, Reynolds Flexible Packaging, Eli Lilli, KDP in France, Sterling Coated Products
in England, Renker in Germany, and Lohja
in Finland.
In addition,
Watson has held positions as National
Sales Director of Geometric Machine & Design
and as President of Kroenert Corp., both
of which are coating and laminating
machinery manufacturers
Watson
has served as chairman of both the Hot
Melt and Silicone Committees of theTechnical
Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry.
Also he has lectured frequently
in the US and Europe and is a contributing
author to the Handbook of Pressure Sensitive
